LVI CONGRESO NACIONAL ONLINE DE LA SEMICYUC 2021. BARCELONA 31 de mayo al 4 de Junio

Nos gustaría comunicarles la decisión de la Junta Directiva de la SEMICYUC y del Comité Científico de la Sociedad de celebrar el próximo LVI Congreso Nacional de la SEMICYUC – Barcelona 2021 en un formato exclusivamente digital. Este cambio de planes obedece, como pueden imaginar, a la situación epidemiológica que tenemos actualmente en los servicios de Medicina Intensiva de todo el país, así como a la inseguridad acerca de la evolución de la pandemia en los próximos meses, que podrían imposibilitar cualquier reunión presencial.

La situación estas primeras semanas de 2021 no nos permite ser optimistas de cara a poder celebrar en junio un congreso presencial o semipresencial con todas las garantías. Así, hemos optado por una solución que nos permitirá seguir adelante con la presentación de comunicaciones y mesas redondas planteadas, planificar el congreso con más margen y evitar problemas de agenda.

Al igual que el pasado Congreso Nacional, modificamos ligeramente las fechas anunciadas. Así, pasa a celebrarse del 31 de mayo al 4 de junio, es decir, un total de cinco jornadas y no las cuatro iniciales. Las actividades se concentrarán de nuevo en horario vespertino, para que no se solapen demasiado con el trabajo asistencial que seguiremos desarrollando en paralelo al Congreso en nuestro hospital.

Les recordamos, asimismo, que el plazo de presentación de comunicaciones sigue abierto, al haberse prorrogado hasta el 31 de enero a las 23.59 h. Aunque somos conscientes de la carga actual de trabajo, les animamos a que, en la medida de lo posible, encuentren tiempo para enviar sus comunicaciones a través de la plataforma del Congreso Nacional antes de esa fecha.

Aprovechamos para enviarles un cordial saludo y nuestra reiterada felicitación por el inmenso trabajo que estamos desarrollando desde haca ya casi un año en la lucha en primera fila frente a la pandemia, convirtiéndonos en un referente asistencial.

Designed by formal special operations warfighters and proven in combat service for almost a decade, the MET GEN III is designed to be used in the most austere of environments.

The MET is a lightweight open-loop system composed of a sturdy strap and aluminum windlass. As a true open-loop system, this tourniquet comes apart completely to place around a limb and doesn’t need to be fully cinched down prior to engaging the windlass; even if loosely applied, by turning the windlass the slack will uptake and fully tighten the tourniquet. It has two securing points to lock down the windlass after application: one that is adjustable and one with Velcro.

Simple, nuestro cerebro reptil, cuando se somete a un estrés (extremo), se enfocará en la supervivencia y podrá completar tareas familiares y grabadas en la memoria muscular. Por lo tanto , enseñar a las personas la teoría de la medicina táctica y someterlas a un entrenamiento sin los factores abrumadores del estrés y la sobrecarga sensorial no las preparará para el acto real de la medicina táctica. Y aunque estamos entrenando a las personas para ese 0,01% de probabilidad de que alguna vez tendremos que usar un TQ en un entorno de alto impacto, estoy seguro de que ninguno de nosotros quiere convertirnos en una estadística o un caso del que la gente hable ... queremos contar la historia nosotros mismos. Al final, "las habilidades avanzadas son sólo lo básico, realizado en escenarios extremos "(escuchado de Michael Shertz). Entrena desagradable, porque por un breve momento, ¡la vida también lo será!"

When serious infections require intravenous antibiotics for weeks rather than days, many patients can receive treatment at home. Patients with serious infections who need intravenous (IV) antibiotics but who otherwise feel well and don’t have any other reason to be in the hospital may qualify for home IV antibiotic therapy. Patients are often surprised to learn that with some basic education and support from their clinicians, they or a family member can administer IV antibiotics at home. Other options for IV antibiotic therapy outside the hospital include daily visits to an outpatient infusion center or admission to a skilled nursing facility. The choice depends on insurance coverage and patient preferences—not every patient is comfortable administering their own IV antibiotics or has family or friends who can help. Home Administration of IV Antibiotics When long courses of IV antibiotics are given outside the hospital, they are administered through a small tube called a catheter placed in a large vein, usually on the inside of the upper arm. A sterile protective dressing is placed over the catheter insertion site. Catheter care includes weekly dressing changes by a nurse, keeping the dressing clean and dry, protecting the insertion site from trauma, and avoiding heavy lifting. Aside from these precautions, the catheter generally does not affect daily activities. Patients receiving home IV antibiotics work with multiple clinicians, including the doctor who prescribes the antibiotic (usually an infectious disease specialist); nurses who work in the prescribing doctor’s office, sometimes called infusion nurses; pharmacists from the home infusion company who arrange delivery of the IV #antibiotics; home health nurses (if covered by the patient’s insurance); and a surgeon. How It Works A home health nurse makes an initial home visit to teach the patient and/or family members to administer the IV #antibiotic. Most patients need 1 to 3 antibiotic doses a day for 1 to 8 weeks. The nurse visits at least once a week to change the catheter dressing and take blood samples. Source American Health Association #
