(Revised) As Super Typhoon Bavi moves away from the CNMI, residents are advised that CNMI Governor David M. Apatang, in consultation with the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management Office and National Weather Service Guam, cancelled storm conditions at 5:00 am today, for Saipan, Tinian, Rota, Alamagan, Pagan, and Agrihan, July 7, 2026.
Cancellation of conditions means that damaging winds are no longer expected, although residents should maintain precautionary measures for strong gusty winds and heavy rain showers associated with feeder band activity. Hazardous marine conditions, especially dangerous, deadly surf and coastal inundation/run-up along the west-facing shores, remain a significant threat.
As the “All Clear” declaration for the islands has not yet been announced, residents are advised to remain at home unless necessary and avoid the roads and streets so emergency crews from the CNMI Department of Public Works, the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation, and other critical infrastructure agencies can conduct island-wide assessments, debris clearing, and repairs.
For official updates, monitor announcements from the CNMI Joint Information Center. For the latest information, follow the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management Office and CNMI Joint Information Center on Facebook (@cnmigovernor) and Instagram (@governorcnmi), as well as the National Weather Service Guam on Facebook (@NWSGuam) or online at weather.gov/gum
