Houston has spent most of his career in rural 911 services working in Middle Tennessee. He has experience in both fire and 911. He currently works part-time on an ambulance for Dekalb County EMS.

As the Director of EMS for Motlow State Community College, Houston is responsible for the oversight of 5 campuses and 3 workforce sites educating over 400 students a year. Motlow currently has multiple EMT/AEMT classes and 2 paramedic programs with a 3rd in the works.

Houston has been married to my wife of 14 years, and we have 1 child. He also serves as Fire Captain of the NorthEnd Volunteer Fire Department.

Kenny Moffitt, Assistant Director of EMS Education Motlow State Community College, BS, CCPM, I/C

Kenny received his EMT license in 1994 and his EMT-IV license in 1995 from Motlow State Community College. He received his Paramedic training at Tennessee Tech University in 1998. Kenny achieved my Critical Care certification in 2004. He earned his AAS Paramedic Degree in 2019 from Chattanooga State Community College. He recently received my BS in Healthcare Administration from Columbia Southern University.

Kenny has worked most of his career in rural 911 services around Middle Tennessee. He has enjoyed working with St. Thomas Event Medicine alongside some professional NFL and NHL teams and large-scale events like the CMA Music Festival. Kenny has also worked providing comprehensive EMS care for music festivals nationwide. I am a retired member of the TN-1 DMAT Team that provided medical care during multiple disasters, such as Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Sandy, and deployments for the earthquake in Haiti.

Currently, Kenny is the Assistant Director of EMS for Motlow State Community College, where I oversee operations for EMS classes on five campuses. We currently host EMT and Advanced EMT classes on all campuses and Paramedic Classes on two of the five, with a third in the works.

Kenny has been married to his wife of 26 years. He has two children (24 and 22) and two grandchildren (4 years, 15 months, and one on the way). Kenny enjoys spending time with his family and serving his community as a Captain of his local Volunteer Fire Department.

Houston and Kenny's mission is to help educate future EMS providers and leaders so they can provide the best possible care to the patients they serve. As educators, the impact on our students goes far beyond the students as they will impact the patients they treat and future students they encounter. Our job is to provide them with the best opportunities to learn and become the best version of themselves professionally and personally.
