En la tarde del 21 de agosto del 2015, el mundo contempló en silencio cómo los medios informaban sobre un ataque terrorista frustrado en el tren núm. 9364 de Thalys con destino a París, un intento impedido por tres valientes jóvenes estadounidenses que viajaban por Europa. “15:17 Tren a París” sigue el curso de la vida de estos amigos desde las dificultades de la infancia y encontrar el equilibrio en sus vidas hasta una serie de eventos increíbles que conducen al ataque. Su amistad no vacila durante esta terrible experiencia, convirtiéndose en su mejor arma y permitiéndoles salvar las vidas de más de 500 pasajeros a bordo. Este trío heroico se compone de Anthony Sadler, el integrante de la Guardia Nacional de Oregon Alek Skarlatos y el aviador de primera clase de la fuerza aérea de EE. UU. Spencer Stone quienes, en la película, se interpretan a sí mismos.
