Documentation of the elimination of a terrorist from the military wing of the Hamas terrorist organization — In an operation carried out yesterday in the Gaza Strip by the Gideonim Unit of Lahav 433 of the Israel Police, the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), and the IDF, Farah Hamed was killed. Hamed had previously served as a senior operative in the “West Bank Headquarters” infrastructure, promoted terrorist plots in Judea and Samaria, and carried out attacks in which IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians were killed.

Over the years, Hamed was part of the Silwad cell and carried out attacks in which Israelis were killed and wounded. In addition, Hamed took part in the shooting attack in Ein Yabrud in October 2003, in which three IDF soldiers were killed: Sgt. Elad Polak, Sgt. Roi Yaakov Solomon, and Staff Sgt. Erez Idan, may their memories be blessed.

Hamed was arrested and later released to the Gaza Strip in 2011 as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal. In his role as head of the Works Department, he was responsible for recruitment and operational direction in Judea and Samaria and promoted terrorist attacks. Since then, he continued to belong to Hamas’s military wing and was involved in recruiting and directing operatives on behalf of the organization to advance attacks in Judea and Samaria.

Prior to the strike, measures were taken to reduce the likelihood of harm to civilians, including the use of precision-guided munitions and aerial surveillance.

Documentación de la eliminación de un terrorista perteneciente al brazo militar de la organización terrorista Hamás — En una operación llevada a cabo ayer en la Franja de Gaza por la Unidad Gideonim de Lahav 433 de la Policía de Israel, el Servicio de Seguridad de Israel (Shin Bet) y las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI), fue abatido Farah Hamed. Hamed había ejercido anteriormente como alto responsable dentro de la infraestructura denominada «Cuartel General de Cisjordania», promovió planes terroristas en Judea y Samaria y ejecutó atentados en los que murieron soldados de las FDI y civiles israelíes.

A lo largo de los años, Hamed formó parte de la célula de Silwad y participó en atentados en los que israelíes resultaron muertos y heridos. Antes del ataque se adoptaron medidas destinadas a reducir la probabilidad de causar daños a civiles, entre ellas el empleo de munición de precisión y vigilancia aérea.

תיעוד מחיסול מחבל מהזרוע הצבאית של ארגון הטרור חמאס - בפעילות יחידת הגדעונים בלהב 433 של משטרת ישראל, שב"כ וצה"ל, חוסל אתמול ברצועת עזה המחבל פרח חאמד, ששימש בעבר כבכיר בתשתית "מטה הגדה", קידם מתווי טרור ביהודה ושומרון והוציא לפועל פיגועים בהם נהרגו לוחמי צה"ל ואזרחים ישראלים.

חאמד היה לאורך השנים חלק מחוליית סילוואד והוציא לפועל פיגועים בהם נרצחו ונפצעו ישראלים. בנוסף, חאמד לקח חלק בפיגוע הירי בעין יברוד באוקטובר 2003, במסגרתו נפלו שלושה לוחמי צה"ל - סמל אלעד פולק ז"ל, סמל רועי יעקב סולומון ז"ל וסמל ראשון ארז עידן ז"ל.

חאמד נעצר ושוחרר לרצועת עזה בשנת 2011 בעסקת שליט, ובמסגרת תפקידו כראש מחלקת העבודות היה אחראי על גיוס והכוונה בשטחי איו"ש, וקידם פיגועים. מאז, המשיך להשתייך לזרוע הצבאית של חמאס ועסק בגיוס והכוונה של הארגון לקידום פיגועים ביהודה ושומרון.

טרם התקיפה ננקטו צעדים לצמצום הסיכוי לפגיעה באזרחים, לרבות שימוש בחימוש מדויק ותצפיות מהאוויר.
