✖️Durante años, los atletas han estado utilizando los medios para mejorar en sus trabajos. Es cómo identifican las deficiencias, las fortalezas y las estrategias. ¡Usan los medios digitales como una herramienta para convertirse en los mejores!
✖️Entonces, ¿por qué no lo usamos más en el servicio de bomberos?
✖️¿Por qué los SOP y SOG "sin medios" se han convertido en la norma en lugar de crear métodos de empoderamiento para que los bomberos documenten y compartan lo que hacen?
✖️¿Por qué confiamos en las soluciones de destino y las presentaciones de PowerPoint para que nos enseñen lo que podríamos estar viendo en los videos?
✖️Lo entiendo. Tiene que haber un poco de supervisión...
✖️Pero los bomberos buscan ser dirigidos. Quieren que se les diga cómo mejorar. Quieren aprender y crecer; como tu atleta favorito practicando su deporte favorito.
✖️Entonces, ¿cómo cambiamos las cosas?
✖️Tengo muchas ideas sobre este tema y hay tantas cosas que han estado sucediendo entre bastidores, pero una cosa en la que creo que todos podemos estar de acuerdo es en el hecho de que no podemos seguir haciendo las cosas como siempre se han hecho y esperar que sean diferentes. resultados.

✖️Because they want to win.
✖️It’s that simple.
✖️For years athletes have been using media to get better at their jobs. It’s how they identify shortcomings, strengths, and strategies. They use digital media as a tool to become the best!!
✖️So why aren’t we using it more in the fire service?
✖️Why have “no media” SOPs and SOGs become the norm instead of creating empowering methods for firefighters to document and share what they do?
✖️Why are we relying on target solutions and PowerPoints to teach us what we could be watching in videos?
✖️I get it. There has to be some oversight…
✖️But firefighters are looking to be led. They want to be told how to get better. They want to learn and grow; just like your favorite athlete playing their favorite sport.
✖️So how do we change things?
✖️I have a lot of thoughts regarding this topic and there’s so much that’s been happening behind the scenes, but one thing I think we can all agree on is the fact we can’t keep doing things how they’ve always been done and expect different results.
✖️It’s time to embrace photos and videos for the BENEFIT they can be in the fire service.
