Current Canine/K9 Tactical Combat Casualty Care (K9TCCC) Guidelines as of 01 JANUARY 2020. The K9TCCC Guidelines are the standard of care for the modern battlefield for military working dogs (MWD).
The guidelines cover the management of canine battlefield injuries: Care Under Fire (CUF), Tactical Field Care (TFC), Tactical Evacuation Care (TACEVAC). These recommendations are intended to be guidelines only and are not a substitute for clinical judgment.
The Committee on Canine Combat Casualty Care (CoK9CCC) is an affiliate committee of the Defense Committee on Trauma alongside the CoTCCC, CoERCCC, and CoSCCC. The CoK9CCC is a committee of representatives from across the Army. Navy, Air Force and Marines affiliated with the JTS that establishes military working dog clinical practice guidelines for the delivery of canine combat casualty care (K9CCC) on the battlefield. The Joint Trauma System (JTS) is focused on the standard of care for prehospital battlefield medicine. The JTS is a Department of Defense, Center of Excellence for Trauma providing clinical practice guidelines and performance improvement for all levels of military trauma care.
