THOR Tourniquet

THOR Tourniquet
Achieving full blood vessel occlusion is the first step in stabilizing a patient affected by a traumatic limb injury, and doing this in the shortest time possible gives the highest probability of successfully saving a life. Researched and developed at MIT with input from soldiers, physicians, and paramedics, the THOR TQ relies on key technologies to achieve rapid, intuitive and easy one-hand self application. Application is even faster when a responder uses both hands to apply the tourniquet to a victim.

Affords substantial mechanical advantage
for efficient occlusion of blood flow from injury.

Allows for rapid encirclement of a trapped or mangled limb. The device is ready for application to a free limb out of the package.
